TSD 2016 - How to reach Brno

Brno can be reached easily by direct flights from London, Munich, or Eindhoven and by buses/trains from Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. From other places it is convenient to go by plane to Vienna or Prague and then by coach or train (130 km from Vienna, 200 km from Prague) to Brno.

By Plane

There is a small international airport Turany in Brno with flights from London/Stansted, London/Luton, Munich and Eindhoven. Other nearest international airports are Schwechat in Vienna (130km) and Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague (200km). There are good bus/train connections to Brno from there, some airlines even offer direct bus transport to Brno from the airport. Ask your travel agent for this option when buying your plane ticket.

From Vienna airport

An easy bus connection from Vienna Airport to Brno is the one with StudentAgency/RegioJet buses - you can find the timetable at IDOS timetable pages (choose English at the right bottom, enter From: Flughafen Wien, To: Brno and select direct).

A little bit faster connection is via trains, where a changing is required at Wien Hbf. You can find the connection at IDOS pages as well (choose English at the right bottom, enter From: Flughafen Wien, To: Brno).

From Prague airport

There are now no direct connections from the Vaclav Havel Airport to Brno, passengers must always change to train/bus in Prague. The fastest connection is with StudentAgency/RegioJet buses. There is also an Airport Express bus from the airport to the Prague train station (but it takes usually about half an hour longer).

The connection timetable can be found at IDOS pages (choose English at the right bottom, enter From: Letiste Vaclava Havla, To: Brno).

By Train

Brno can be reached easily by direct EC trains from Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. You may find some train connections which may suit you best at the IDOS pages

By Car

Brno is located in the southeast part of the Czech Republic, on the backbone motorway D-1 Prague-Brno-Bratislava, and the rail-road line Prague-Brno-Vienna.

The nearest international airports are Vienna (recommended) and Prague. Brno is about 120 minutes drive from Vienna or 150 minutes drive from Prague.

You can find your way to the Conference location on the Google map of the conference location.
